Travel Nurse of the Month – Maegan T!
Name: Maegan T.
City, State: Seattle, WA
Specialty: Oncology, Infusion/Immunotherapy
Month: Jul. 1
1. How’d you get into travel nursing?
I knew I wanted to travel nurse from the start. It’s always been attractive to me to be able to travel the US and try living in new cities for months at a time. So after I put in my first 2 years, I decide to give it a go!
2. What’s the best part about traveling?
The best part of traveling has been the experience of living in places I’ve always wanted to go and the connection/friendships I’ve made along the way. I’ve meet so many great people and have done so many fun things since I started my travel journey. But I have also really developed my skills as an oncology nurse and learned so much from all the facilities I’ve work at. It’s amazing to think back to how much experience I’ve gained in just a year that would never have been possible without traveling.

3. You meet a first time travel nurse in the Seattle area, which restaurants are a must for them to try?
There are so many good ones! I would say my favorite in the summer is to grab a Caribbean sandwich from Paseo (in Fremont) and then head over to Fremont Brewing where you can grab a table outside to eat/drink with a view of the water.

4. What’s the best part about the Seattle area?
The location of Seattle is just amazing! With access to mountains, sea (well the sound and lake Washington) and to have all the perks of a big city- it can’t get better than that. It’s just an incredible place to be, especially in the Summer.
5. Any advice for other travelers?
My advice would be to take advantage of the learning opportunities and really put yourself out there to connect with people you meet. I’ve gained so much knowledge from the nurses I’ve worked with and made friends that I will hopefully keep in touch with for years to come.

6. How do you compare Axis to others travel companies?
What I love about Axis is that it is a smaller company that really invest it’s time in finding you the perfect assignment. I have felt very supported and valued by the team and can always count on my recruiter to have my back. Thank you Lynna and Lauren– you guys rock!
Congrats Maegan! We’re so thrilled to have you on the Axis Team! 🙂
