How’d you get into travel nursing?
This is my first travel assignment and I’m loving it. I was ready for something new in my life. I come across a blog about travel opportunities. I started searching for travel agencies and I found Axis!
What’s the best part about traveling?
I love exploring a new place, meeting new people and learning about different cultures.
You meet a first time traveler in Seward, which restaurant is a must for them to try?
This is a hard question! I have two favorites in town, one is the Sea Bean and the other is Ray’s Waterfront. Sea Bean is only open until 2pm. It’s a comfortable place to sit, relax and grab some coffee, tea, a panini or a smoked salmon bagel. My other favorite is Ray’s Waterfront. It’s a comfortable Seafood restaurant on the water by the boat harbor. They’re a little pricey, but it’s worth it! They have Alaskan salmon, halibut, rockfish, Alaskan king crab legs and much more. They’re chairs are so comfortable you could sit there for hours and enjoy the view.
What’s the best part about Seward?
The small town of Seward is a beautiful place, there’s always something to do. The mountains, wildflowers and wildlife are beautiful and never get old to me.
Any advice for other travelers?
Be respectful, kind, a team player, do a great job and be yourself and you’ll make friends immediately. Make the most of your free time and never pass up an opportunity to do something with your co-workers. Plan ahead during the Spring and Summer months as everything gets booked in advance.
How do you compare Axis to others travel companies?
Phelecia has gone above and beyond to make my experience a great one. She is always on top of things. She’s always looking out for my best interests and she feels like a friend to me. I love Axis!
