2024 Washington Rowing Class Day Cruise with Croissants
March 16 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Like last year our Cruise will feature on-board commentary from Melanie Barstow (UW class of ‘16 and Founder of the “Boys in the Boat” tour) providing a fascinating narrative of the history and legacy of the Seattle waterways.
Topics covered by Melanie will include the creation of the Montlake Cut, the rich indigenous history of the area, the ASUW Shell House (home to the “Boys in the Boat”), a glimpse into WWI Naval aviation history, and additional facts about the ship canal and Lake Union.
Be ready to learn some wonderful northwest history prior to watching the races from the boat deck.
Breakfast on the Argosy Goodtime II vessel will include scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and a variety of baked goods and of course a full array of made-to-order espresso drinks.
For those of you wishing to conveniently park in the E-12 lot next to the Waterfront Activity Center (“WAC”) we will have our parking lot volunteers standing in the parking lot outside the WAC ready to provide you with a complimentary parking pass to leave on your car dashboard.
This parking pass is an “all day” pass. So once you complete the Cruise you’re welcomed to leave your vehicle in the lot and take the short walk to the Conibear Shell House for the post race barbecue and presentation of the race awards.
NOTE: please be prompt with your purchases enabling us to better plan for the food quantity.
