A Lifelong Dream Turned Reality

Travel nursing was always in the cards for April. She started her journey by earning her bachelor’s degree in 2022. During her time in school, she always knew she’d be a travel nurse— Once her husband returned home after a year in the military, they began their adventure on the road.

Life in Montana

Growing up in Washington State, April had always dreamed of living in Montana. While previously on assignment in New Hampshire, she was eager to take on this new location.

“The mountains are breathtaking, and we love hiking whenever we can. Limekiln Trail has been our favorite spot so far. Plus, the local coffee shops are fantastic!”

Apart from hiking, she and her husband have taken up archery, joining the Lewistown Archery Club. After an adventure-filled time on the East Coast, they are enjoying a slower pace this winter.

Housing Insights & Advice for Aspiring Travelers

April is currently staying in a Furnished Finder townhome, and while she likes the space, she recommends that fellow travelers research housing and also ask about hospital housing options during the interview to learn if there are other options that the hospital or facility might be aware of. 

Making the Most of Free Time

When she’s not working, April enjoys baking, hitting the gym, and being outdoors whenever possible. Although the cold has kept her and her husband indoors more than usual, they still find ways to stay active and enjoy the outdoors.
