Axis Staff Spotlight: Drake N, Operations Intern
Meet Drake, Axis Medical Staffing’s Rock Star Summer Intern!
Drake just recently completed his summer internship with Axis and we couldn’t think of a better time to shine a light on what a great addition he was to the team. He brought with him a great sense of humor and a can-do attitude that we really appreciated. He is now heading into his senior year of high school and we want to wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors!
But before that, let’s get to know him a bit better…
1. What are some hobbies or interests you have outside of work?
I enjoy playing soccer and tennis. I also enjoy volunteering so I became the VP of my school’s National Honor Society, and a member of Key Club. I also like engineering so I became the President of my school’s robotics team.
2. It’s a Friday night in Seattle, and you must pick one restaurant to go to. Where do you go and why?
If I had to pick a restaurant to go to in Seattle, it would be Dick’s. Its fast, good and cheap, so I can get myself four burgers, two fries, and a vanilla shake.
3. What do you like most about Seattle?
I love the traffic; it gives me another hour of sleeping.
4. Best vacation you have ever taken?
There was this vacation to Hawaii and I got there by skydiving into a pool of dolphins, sadly it was really short and I woke up in the middle of swimming with dolphins. Lol just kidding, honestly, I’ve haven’t had a great vacation.
5. If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?
If I could go anywhere it would be to California or Arizona so I can go get myself In-N-Out Burger, I’ve only hear good things about that place.
6. Dog or Cat person?
I’m more of a dog person, I like going outside, and I don’t really see many cats on leashes going out for a walk.
7. I’m happiest when:
I’m eating something sweet. So if you want something from me buy me some ice cream (preferably vanilla, I know, I know, I’m basic).
8. What are three things you couldn’t live without?
I couldn’t live without food of course. I also like water, and the last thing would be my phone, I just found out about the uber eats app, so my phone can literally solve all my problems.

9. You win a $5k shopping spree to a store of your choice. Which one is it?
I would go on a shopping spree at Wal-Mart because their stuff is cheap, and literally have everything I would need.
10. Hike, bike or run?
I would go on a hike because I’m going at a pace that would allow me to enjoy my surroundings.
11. What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Well I live a very tamed life but something dumb that I did was eating some lit marshmallows. It was my friend’s birthday party and we made a fire in the back and made some s’mores, and I don’t know what happen we just started to light marshmallows on fire and tossed them into our mouths, it tasted fine but the initial contact was hot, and hurt a little.
12. Biggest Fear?
My biggest fear is isolation; I need to do something with someone.
13. What station is playing on Pandora right now?
My Pandora is a shuffle of Pop, R&B/soul, Alternative, Todays Top Hits, and Hip-Hop/Rap.
14. What are you currently watching on Netflix?
I am watching Daredevil, IZombie, and Bones.
15. Favorite movie of all time?
I don’t have a favorite movie of all time; I haven’t watched a movie that I would want to watch again.
16. What was your favorite TV show when growing up?
Teen Titans, Codename: Kids Next Door, and Criminal Minds
17. You just finished an assignment as our Operations Intern, what was your favorite part?
My favorite part was being gifted a free shirt. Not only was it a free shirt, it was comfortable and it’s blue (my favorite color), and it makes you feel like you are apart of the team.
Become a part of our team. Axis has been named a Top 5 Travel Nursing Company by BluePipes! Read about it here.
18. How would the office staff describe you?
Quiet, shy, awkward, and extremely nerdy.
19. If you could offer one piece of advice to future interns, what would it be?
Don’t watch The Internship, the movie lied, there wasn’t a Quidditch tournament, there was actually work to do and an opportunity to learn about how the company runs.
20. What do you like best about working at Axis?
The best thing about working with Axis is the team. They are all so friendly and they all genuinely care for each other. When I came I thought I would be treated like a shadow, just there to watch, but when Monday Meetings came around, I was asked about how my week went. The business’ foundation seems to be caring for each other and great communication. An example was some of our recruiters went down to Bend, Oregon to meet their nurses and they gave their nurses care packages to thank them. That was nice. Also, I go on coffee runs, which also means free coffee for me!
Congrats on completing your internship, Drake! We’re so glad you joined the Axis family.
